What should we target, who should we go with?

I'll be in Orlando in July visiting Disney world with my kids and the extended family.  I'd like to get in a day of fishing on the Ocean, but I have no idea what species to target that time of year, or who to charter.  Any suggestions?

I could see going with a shorter trip that was 'Inshore' and taking the kids, or possibly ditch the kids, and go with my brother and father in law on a deep see fishing.  Not sure what we'll do, but would love to here options from anyone that knows the area.

Thanks in advance!

If you are in Orlando you will be looking at fishing the east coast - be a little longer to gulf coast. Melborne Fla is your jump off spot. Inshore you have Indian Lagoon fishing, and pretty wide open offshore. Lots of docks you can take the kids to for panfish and the freshwater canals in Miami are loaded with peacock bass, oscars, largemouth, snakeheads, and clown knife fish.

There are too many spots to fish really and I just picked my spots and fish when I visit friends in Melborne. The bridges and causeways over the lagoon and the pass at Melborne hold fish - don't know what charters to recommend - just be wary of the big outfitters who are one and done type services - see if you can find local guides or charters who don't advertise much

Bone up on your Cuban Spanish - many stores down there English is a second language.

I have not gone out with these guys but there is a LOT of information about Redfish fishing around the Mosquito Lagoon on their site. These are the guys that turned me on to my cast net supplier. If I ever get down that way I'm definitely using them.
