I have a boat with a 77 chrysler 75hp outboard.it wasn't very relible last season so i went thru all the fuel system this winter, all lines, fuel pump kit, carb kits and etc.
ran great at the shop, we take it to the lake saturday and it starts but won't run long, then gets to where it won't start at all and has no fire to the plugs now.anybody know a reasonable mechanic that can make it reliable.i don't have time to work on it and i'm about ready to pull the plug and sink it.the boat means alot to my 12 year old son and i would like to be able to take him fishing in it without having to fight it.Thanks for any help.

I'm not familiar with Chrysler outboards at all but if it were mine I'd be supicious of the powerpack failing or possibly one or more of the ignition coils. Just a thought.

4c75, not sure where you're located, but Brad's in Claremore has done some work for me. I don't know if they work on that early of motors. You might give em a call and see what they can do. I've seen several positive comments from other guys that have had work done by them also.
