Family member saw handfull of baby hybrids he described to be about 3+ inches on there death float barely swimming, barely alive, near death, some dead around bank at skiatook point boat ramp area yesterday 5-24. He said when he picked them up they left a yellowish slime on his hands. Any explanation for all that? These had to have just recently been stocked. I questioned him if he was sure they were wipers or white bass, he said wipers, they had the broken pattern.

I am pretty sure that we have not yet stocked hybrids in 2012. Our fish are still growing in hatchery ponds as far as I know. I would bet money that those were white bass. It is very difficult to tell a white from a hybrid from a striper at that size. I hope they were not white perch brought in a bait bucket.
