We have caught more hybrids this season than we have in a long time now if I could just catch that one that weighs 18lbs. It seems like the big ones always bend hooks or break the line even with the drag set a little lose, what is with that?

Looks like you have them figured out. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing.

We usually troll till we find a nice school, then we will back off and cast sassy shads or grubs at them. When we are lucky enough to catch shad we will drift shad free line through them. That usually produces the larger fish but the shad haven't been that easy to get lately. I like the one throw and wham 40 shad in the net.

Have you thought about going to 20 lbs test braid, and using a mono leader? I tend to use a lot of 3/0 circle hooks, and have never broke one on a fish, although I have broken them on a rock.

Rottie You are right it was so clear and easy to see even in the bright sunlight. It was a shame I had to go get a root canal done today or I would of been back on the water.

This one ruined my brand new chartreuse Hot'N Tot. The lip was so bent the lip I couldn't get it to tune back in. Plus dished out a gill cut that will take days to heal.

Are those from Skiatook? Nice fish wherever they're from.

If I told you I would never hear the end of it from my fishing buddy's. There is a good chance you have seen us on the water or will.
