Do the generators run all the time or is there a schedule a person can look at?

You need to be able to cast a country mile.  Heavy lures, or rods that make it easy to do that.  Kastmaster spoons are a good choice.

As far as the "hot bite" goes, that is dependant on the weather.  You really want an "extended" cold snap.  Not just a couple of days, but a week or more.  Weekdays are best; less competition, and both generators are usually going.  Weekends see more folks fishing, and one or both generators could be off.

You might, or might not, be able to spot whether or not the stacks have exhaust coming out of them.  There's a lot of scrubbers in there to clean the air up.  Don't expect to "see smoke".  Instead, look "through" the air above the stack and see if there's any heat distortion in the air.

Thank you for the infro Allen, a mile walk is a little too far to carry the surf rods, the discharge it self don't look too wide.
I will wait a day or two more of this cold before I start walking.  Thank you again.

Regarding that one mile hike, I've heard they don't allow ATV's or motorcycles, but do they allow bicycles to go on that path?

The more you practice, the luckier you get.

Correct, you can use a bicycle.  On the walk in last january I saw a dude nose dive off his bike and break both his rods. Cycle at your own risk!!!

If the ground is not frozen it's not a good idea to do the bicycle thing.
