Not too excited about the prospects of sinking a boat in 39 degree water.
My old fiberglass tri hull barge has some cracks in the gel coat along the bottom. See pic. The pic is not my boat, but gives you an idea about what I am talking about.
The red mark indicates the spot where there are 3-4 cracks running. It appears on both sides for 18-24 in. on one side there is the appearance of whiter gel coat as if it had been redone years ago. I have owned this boat for years, but only put it into service within the last year. It also appears to be occurring roughly along the line of where the floor intersects with the hull. The boat is not worth putting much money into. I may continue to use it for a time, but gingerly puttering about in it to not stress the hull much. Anyone have any thoughts?
