Yes some will move up rivers with sandbass - and usually just a tad earlier - I have caught hybrids from Skiatook waaay up Hominy creek in my jet boat in March and April - its especially good up there about a week following any 2-3" rains on the watershed
Skiatook Morone movements are more due to O2 levels and water quality/turbidity/ forage availability - not much in the way of current to get fish in a spawn migratory pattern. After and during hard blows, during April, you will find sandbass spawning on windblown banks, and the hybrids will be right with them
