Went to a local tire shop to get a couple of trailer tires. He tried to sell me a P205-75R-14. I said isn't the P for passenger tire, I want a trailer tire. He said the P stood for metric. I left and went down the road, bought a set of ST205-75R-14, trailer tires, like I wanted.

I agree that you have to be careful when buying tires. Trailer tires are much different than auto tires for sure.

Senko when you say local tire shop. Do you mean like Hibdon's or Discount tire. The reason I ask I noticed (actually wife noticed) when I got home from the fish fest I had a severly worn tire on my trailer and the belts were showing through in a few places. I put the spare on it but need to go buy a new tire. Looking for the better deal.

I first went to Big O. I bought a pair from Hibdons, $215.00 out the door. They say made in China, but what doesn't.

Ironically enough, my buddy noticed I was starting to throw tread Sunday as we were pulling out of the water at Mazie. I had to put on the spare and I too am looking for new trailer tires.

I am using Hercules brand Trailer tires now had real good use out of em --

my shop told me that trailer tires have more plys in the sidewall, and that passenger tire won't stand up to trailer sway --

BTW ALL trailer tires and now mfg in China - no matter the brand
