How do you Rig em?
Me I use j hooks & treble hooks & Small Mono or sewing thread.

Y'all ever spice em up?
Just read and article that talked about useing garlic salt and sea salt. The Garlic for extra sent and the salt made the livers tougher&they said it helps keep em on the hook longer.
So I tryed the salt/garlic mixture in one tub to see if there is a difference tomorrow when I go fishing. The only thing I can think that will happen is the salt will draw the blood & moisture from the livers.

Go to the store and get you some cheap panty hose. Drop a chunk of liver down into the toe. Tie and overhand knot to keep the liver in it. Then, tie a second overhand knot just above the first. Cut the panty hose between the knots. Repeat until you either run out of liver, or panty hose.

To use, just poke the hook through the panty hose packet, and cast it out. Be advised, when you change bait, you'll probably have to cut the panty hose off.

My wife noticed that I had an egg of panty hose in my car once. She knew what it was for. She told me that, "...any other man, I'd worry. But you, I know what you're doing..." The she laughed.

put your livers in a coffee can in between layers of salt and stick in the fridge for a week or so. They will toughen up , stay on the hook better, and never go bad.

I just take a baggie, once it's loaded and tied off, and poke the hook through it. The mesh holds it pretty good, and the barb of the hook usually will not pass back through the mesh. I always had to cut mine off.

You can toughen them up by spreading the liver out in the hot sun for several hours, turning halfway through to get the other side. Another method is to coat the livers with sugar.
