Well took it in and had a new impeller and a new thermostat put in her. Also changed the plugs, and had a compression check. 135, 140, 135, pretty good. Only $180 outta my pocket. Took her out today before we headed out to tenkiller this weekend and what do you know? Trouble. Started OK, but RPM's were low, couldn't get them above 1800 when in neutral. Unloaded her and made it about 100 yards and it dies and is obviously HOT. Wouldn't even try to start after that. Dropped it back off at the shop on my way home and left him a message that the problem was not fixed. After examining the back of the motor it has two spouts for water to come out and one was clogged with what looks like the old melted impeller. Was there from the last time this happened. Any ideas?
