Kurt, since I've had my HDS units, I've been able to find schools of bass in the 25 to 50 ft. range in Tex; Mo; and Ark; in the cold and hot weather months. But not having much luck in Okla. Is that due to water clarity or ?; how does a bass know it lives in Okla. and they don't school deep here.....(lol).

Wayne, sorry it took me so long to respond (I had some login issues).  I am not sure what water characteristics could be causing the difference between OK and other states' schooling fish showing up on your electronics.  I would think that turbidity or suspended particles in the water column could affect the "clarity" of your sonar returns, but not enough to cause such a big difference from other bodies of water.  I do know that a bass in OK should not act any differently than a bass in AR, MO, or TX.  They do generally school in deeper water during the winter, but I am far from the expert in hook and line sampling of bass.
