Hi there, I am just starting to fish. Someone teaches me basic skill in boomer lake and I caught some fishes there. Weeks ago, I started to fish myself in Carl Blackwell lake, I went many times but didn't even catch single fish. I don't have a boat and tried several camping spots (pretty shallow) but didn't get any fish. I use crankbait, plastic worm and spinner but doesn't work. Is that any spot you suggest to try or any tips to catch fish in that lake? Thanks.

I would check out the dam or any of the rock points by the store if you are fishing from the bank. Also there is a long rocky point straight east of the trout pond that will hold fish. Stick with the crankbait or try some roadrunners for crappie.

Thanks for your reply. Where is the dam? I didn't see it on the map.

Take Lakeview West off of Redlands. Before you get to Turkey Hollow RV park turn South and head toward the gates by the hydraulic lab. I am pretty sure you can park there and I belive there is a drop box for your daily user fees.

To be clear. Don't park infront of the hydraulic lab gate. Park off to the side of the road so vehilces can still get through the gate if they need to.

Hi all, I went there today but I didn't find it. Instead, I fished at the fishing dock. I saw many BIG fishes close to the rocky side, you can see them there on the topwater. Many people are fishing there, but interestingly, the fish doesn't bite. I try almost all kind of baits but they just don't bite. Does anyone every catch one? What bait do you use?
