This one goes out to all the hard core live bait guys. How big would a gizzard shad have to be before you wouldn't have any confidence in it for saugeye bait?

Thanks,

About a pound - I've caught three pound saugeye on ten inch shad - saugeye have a big mouth and can handle big baits- late spring after spawn they seem to prefer bigger baits -- the water is too warm around here already for any good saugeye action --

Thanks Tony, I had no idea saugeye were that aggressive. We have some decent size walleye in Cheney and Eldorado. I plan on trying to catch some this fall with live shad. I seem to have trouble catching small shad up here, and didn't know the eyes would attack a large bait.

Thanks again,
Cody
