Floated part of the Upper Illinois River last weekend with the cousins. Catfish were slow on minnows and blood bait. Smallmouth bass were great on top water lures and small crankbaits. One of the cousins caught a ~6 lbs. largemouth on a Hula Popper. Great trip, Good times, Can't beat the river! If you copy and paste the "Direct" link under the picture on your photobucket, it won't paste all of the code like that. Looks like a great time! I need to get out there sometime soon. It's been a while...

Love that river. I haven't hit it in a month or two..I need to get back up there. I've always felt like the upper part of the upper Illinois as more scenic, but felt like closer to the lake the fish were bigger. I might have to rethink that with you guys pulling that Hawg out of the upper section.
