6 large morels (fresh or rehydrated)
3 c cooked rice (jasmine rice is good, but $$$$)
2 T + extra minced garlic
red bell peppers
-or- green bell peppers
4 green onions, chopped
1 # shrimp, fresh or frozen
salt and black pepper
fresh lime

Lightly saute the garlic, peppers (only for coloring), green onions, liberal amount of butter, and shrimp. Mix with the rice and stir well. Add cilantro. Stuff morels and put into shallow ceramic dish. pour melted butter and garlic onto stuffed morels. Arrange any leftover rice around the morels. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 - 30 minutes. Before serving pour on more butter and salt. Serve with fresh lime wedges to be squeezed right before eating.

NOTE: I haven't tried this one.

twisted, welcome to the board. There are quite a few discussions on morels on the message board. Also search the internet for oklahoma morels and you will find plenty of info. Looks like it is getting close and I am going to find my first this year or at least be able to identify my first. Pretty sure I have seen them before and did not know what I was looking at. Keep on posting.

Hi Tom! Welcome aboard!

I have yet to actually go out and look for morels. I'm lucky enough to work in a couple places that can afford them, so I get to work with them in a restaurant setting.

I read on a different thread that some other folks have found morels around Sahoma. I'm not sure where.

twisted I would go look for them if you need company. I have some ideas of some spots based on the descriptions but looks like the missing ingredient is rain right now.
