Lake Hefner has been fishing very well this month. I've been out 4 times in 3 weeks, the overcast sky and relatively cool weather made for a 12 walleye day and a 6 walleye day (typical of Hefner, they disappeared Saturday).  Lot's of boats out there.  Also caught 2 catfish (one 24 lbs) and as always, could have caught as many sandbass as I wanted once I found them.

Thank you for your report, any 6 walleye day is great day at Hefner, I need to go catch one or two, too many family activities the last two months is cutting into my fishing time , four graduations, one grand child and another one due in July

I'm glad you're having some luck I normally try to get out there every May and get me a few of those walleye. There is some nice ones in that Lake. I went out Saturday morning and had nothing but trouble. My trolling motor Wouldn't steer and my blade anchor wouldn't hold even in the soft dirt. I fix my trolling motor now I have to figure out what the deal is with the anchor not holding. I've used this towel anchor before and they were excellent the only difference now is that I'm not using a chain. I'm going to try to get back out there sometime this weekend if weather pepermitting. I've always had my best luck near the park

I went out  last night fall night six  hours didn't even have one bite I tried shallow and deep  i really didnt find many fish on the finder but I only searched on the south side of the lake since it was dark I tried to stay close to the ramp. Fished minnows and small perch no takers . A couple other fishermen showed up and launched their boat about 1am as i was leaving maybe they knew what the fish in that Lake likes
to eat for a midnight snack
